Country Music Round-Up

Deborah is the younger sister of the late John bonham, drummer with Led Zeppelin, who died in 1980. She was five when she started going to Led Zeppelin concerts and with such an illustrious brother it was no surprise when she became a singer/writer herself. this album, named for the home John bought for his family, is not stone country; in fact there is a minimal amount of country sounds. 'Devil In New Orleans' is a great country rocker and 'Without You' and 'Need Your Love' fit quite neatly into contemporary country balladry, but for the rest, Deborah pulls on her roots in blues, folk and rock. A quite superb album actually, that features a powerful bunch of musicians including Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney Band), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Robbie Blunt and Dougie Boyle (Robert Palmer). The producer is Mo Foster (Phil Collins Band) and Johns son, Jason Bonham, a recording artist in his own right, is featured heavily. A bonus CD featuring three excellent covers, 'The Battle Of Evermore', 'Superstition' and 'Songbird' is included.

Guitarist

The younger sister of the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame, in case you were woundering, Debbie's on fine form here with her distinctive bluesy voice working to great effect on an entertaining mixture of tracks. The album features an impressive line up of guest players including Robbie McIntosh, Mick Fleetwood, and Robbie Blunt and Dougie Boyle from Robert Plant's band. And having Jason Bonham on drums throughout is also an added bonus, although much credit must go to veteran session man Mo Foster who produced the album and played bass. The odd Zeppelin influence creeps in, which certainly isn't a problem, and there's also a fine version of 'Need Your Love So Bad'. Buy now and you get an extra three track CD featuring an excellent live radio version of 'Battle Of Evermore' from the Jason Bonham band featuring Debbie.
